The laws of commerce are cumbersome
Central Provincial Customs Directorate: There are more than forty organizations involved in trade in the country, with stricter laws and often contradictory rules.
According to Iran's International Stone Exhibition, Mehdi Mirasharrafi said at a meeting of Commerce and Industry Advisers in Arak on Wednesday afternoon, "Trading in the country has become the most complex and difficult issue since production."
He added: There are more than 40 organizations involved in trade in the country in this regard, and in many cases the contradictory rules are seen in these forty organizations, which are actually in heavy and complicated bureaucracy in customs.
Mirasharrafi said that these conditions require a rapid and fundamental change in the country's trade, adding: Half of the informal trade in Iran is in the form of smuggling goods because of the complexity of formal trade in the country. The result of informal trade is becoming more common.
The Director General of the Central Provinces Customs Office, pointing out the variation in customs tariffs, said: "This variety of customs tariffs has the worst impact on the country's trade, while irrational tariffs dominate the country's trade."
He said: There needs to be a fundamental revolution in the country's trade debate and the situation must be removed in order to boost trade.
