Issuance of 321 mining exploration licenses in Khorasan Razavi during the past year
Head of Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of Khorasan Razavi: Last year, 321 mining exploration licenses and also 105 discovery certificates were issued in the province.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Mohammad Reza Mesforoush stated about the situation of the province's mines: The number of active mines in Khorasan Razavi is 411. There are also 68 mines being equipped and 9 mines temporarily closed in the province.
Regarding active mines in Mashhad, he added: out of the number of active mines in the province, 66 mines are located in Mashhad.
There are 83 inactive mines in Mashhad
The head of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of Khorasan Razavi continued: "Also, 374 mines are currently inactive in the province, which are mostly temporary and seasonal, of which 83 mines are located in Mashhad."
Referring to the inactive mines in the province, Mesforoush stated: Lack of flexibility in diversity and quality of minerals, impossibility of exporting minerals and impossibility of competing with similar foreign products due to the existence of worn-out machines and the subject of comprehensive sanctions. Many obstacles have been created in the way of mines for the export and import of mining machinery, including the existence of inactive mines in the province.
He added: "Last year, 321 mineral exploration licenses and 105 discovery certificates were issued." The most mineral in the province with 798 million tons of proven proven reserves of iron ore.
