Mining equipment is imported in free currency
The existence of a suitable field for importing mining equipment is one of the factors that is very effective in the growth and development of the mining sector and mining industries, but the high exchange rate for imports is one of the obstacles that prevent miners from importing and equipping mines with modern machinery. The world is holding back; Therefore, it seems that appropriate planning and arrangements should be made by the relevant government officials and institutions to support mining activists.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, the supply of mining machinery and equipment is one of the important issues that has always been the concern of activists in this sector and miners. It is not necessary to remind that in case of lack of machinery in mining activities, the owners of the mines will have problems and the wheel of the mining sector and the mining industry of the country will not turn. Relying on domestic production in this area was on the agenda many years ago, but during the comments of various proponents and opponents, the project was left unfinished and Iran is still dependent on the import of mining equipment. Of course, high exchange rates and a lack of government support have made imports difficult for miners, and most of the sector's activists are mining with worn-out machinery.
Mineral equipment wear
Hojjatullah Daryani, an activist of coal mines, called the conditions for supplying equipment for coal mines relatively favorable and while complaining about the wear and tear of the machines in the mines, he said: In mining or in transportation) must have certain characteristics and certain standards that only imported equipment has these characteristics; Therefore, most of the country's mines (especially coal mines) use foreign machinery.
He added: "The problem that exists in the mines today is the wear and tear of this equipment, which has created problems for mining activities and has slowed down the actions of this sector; In other words, the obsolescence and wear and tear of the machinery used in the mines is one of the problems that must be addressed to take serious measures.
Free currency import
The mining activist cited the lack of government support for foreign exchange imports as the main reason for the lack of modernization of mining equipment. "Today, the import of mining machinery is done in free currency, and therefore the import of this equipment requires large sums of money, which are difficult for mining activists to obtain, while there is no government support to facilitate the provision of foreign exchange for miners," he said. It is not considered and therefore mining activists are not able to replace old equipment with new and are forced to use worn-out machinery. It can be said that one of the most important problems of mine owners and mining activists today is the lack of government support to provide foreign exchange for the import of mining machinery and equipment into the country.
Failure of domestic production
Daryani further pointed to the role and ability of domestic producers of mining equipment and said: "In recent years, some domestic companies have moved to the production of mining equipment and machinery to eliminate the need for mines to import these devices, but different issues have not led to this end." Targets as well as imports are the only way to supply mining equipment.
He added: "Among the reasons for the failure of domestic production of mining equipment can be pointed to the lack of attention to the standards required for mining equipment in domestic production. Also because the country needs much more than the production of domestic companies and the small circulation of these products and consequently That high cost compared to similar foreign equipment, domestic products failed to capture domestic markets; In other words, importing foreign equipment was cheaper for miners than buying domestic products.
He added: "Some companies have been able to market equipment at a competitive and reasonable rate for some time, but because these machines were unable to meet the standards and characteristics required for mining activities, including standards for coal mines," he said. Their presence in the mines was ruled out.
Import of coal mining equipment
The mining activist continued to release the import of machinery needed for coal mines and said about some of the issues raised following the ban on the import of mining machinery and road construction in the Hepco product category: "Fortunately, we have a problem in supplying the equipment needed for the coal production line and mining activities." We do not have. Coal mines now supply their equipment and machinery (both for mining and transportation) through imports without restrictions or prohibitions.
He continued his speech by pointing to some import bans and said: the ban on the import of road construction and mining equipment includes equipment being produced in the country; In a more precise sense, there is an obstacle to the import of road construction machinery and mines that the domestic manufacturer is able to supply to industries and mines, but equipment that is not in the production category of domestic companies and the Iranian manufacturer is not able to build and meet its requirements and standards. Can be imported and there are no restrictions.
Currency supply in small mines
Nasser Taghizadeh, CEO of Chadormelo, pointed to the problem of financing the import needed in small and medium-sized mines and said: "Unfortunately, the equipment used in mines today is worn out and mine owners and mining activists often can not replace them, because With the current prices in the world markets and also the high exchange rate in our country, it is not cheap for most contractors and mining operators, especially the private sector and small mines, which have more limited financial resources, to import equipment and use the latest world technology.
He added: "Large mining companies have enough currency to support contractors to some extent to supply equipment and import machinery." Of course, we should not ignore the effective presence of the Export Guarantee Fund of Iran in providing part of the financial resources needed by the mines to purchase and import equipment, and fortunately today we see the support of this fund for the country's miners.
Mine safety
Taghizadeh continued his speech by pointing to the existing order registration system for mining machinery and said: "It is a good thing that the order registration system for mining machinery and equipment of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade has been reopened and activists can order their required equipment through this, because In this way, a suitable list of the country's mineral needs is prepared and appropriate arrangements are made by the officials to meet it.
Regarding the safety of equipment in the mines, he said: "Currently, it can be said that the safety of equipment and machinery used in the mines is appropriate, and to date we have not had any casualties from the use of this equipment in the mining and mineral industries, but we should not forget He said that the current equipment of the mines is worn out and it is better with the import of up-to-date global machinery while modernizing the technical part of the mines, productivity was done with higher speed and quality in the mines.
Concluding remarks ...
Existence of a suitable field for importing mining equipment is one of the factors that is very effective in the growth and development of the mining sector and mining industries, but the high exchange rate for import is one of the obstacles that keep miners from importing and equipping mines with up-to-date machinery. The world is holding back; Therefore, it seems that appropriate planning and arrangements should be made by the relevant government officials and institutions to support mining activists.
