We do not look at trade in black and white
Head of Trade Development Organization: We must design our program for each country with which we can develop economic and trade relations based on the principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran. So to say a cooperation document; It has taken us to the point where we no longer pay attention to economic relations with other countries, it is not the right view.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Hamid Zadboom said about the 25-year cooperation document between Iran and China: "Such cooperation programs should be long-term, but the details will be determined in the short term." China now has such programs with 47 countries around the world, and has already had similar programs with some countries, and the long-term nature of this program is an advantage.
He added: "Since this document is not an action plan and is a comprehensive cooperation plan, it only sets out the generalities and its long-term nature does not create a problem." But when we define projects in different areas such as oil, industry, mining and trade, with the support of this program, it will be implemented in the short or medium term.
The head of the Trade Development Organization stated that one of the goals of this document is to attract foreign investment, adding that attracting foreign investment is an important turning point in the development plan of countries; Because domestic capital is not always sufficient for development. This is also seen in the personal planning of businessmen and companies, so that their planning is not only based on their own capital and assets, but also tries to finance from other sources and add to their potential so that they can carry out their plans. Therefore, for development programs, one should think about attracting foreign investments.
Zadboom stated: Therefore, one of the issues addressed in this document in the medium term is attracting foreign investment for large investments in projects such as refineries, petrochemicals, free zones, clean energy, subway lines, mining industries, etc. Because the subject of long-term and medium-term projects is designed, one of the important issues in medium-term projects is the issue of investment.
Deputy Minister Samat, in response to some analyzes regarding the turn to the east of the country's trade, said: "It may not be very expert to look at the East or the West in the system of economy and international trade." We can work with different countries on such a program. Of course, a country may at times feel that it has run out of resources and cooperation with some countries, so it tries to look to it, but that does not mean that. To be unaware of this action on the other hand.
He added: "Therefore, we must have a balanced view of the development of our economic and trade cooperation with the world." It should be noted that if our analysis is based on the West or the East, how do we look at Africa? Is this looking west or east? While our focus should be on Africa and neighboring countries.
Zadboom also added: "We must design our program for each country with which we can develop economic and trade relations based on the principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran." So to say a cooperation document; Our view that we no longer pay attention to economic relations with other countries is not the right view.
"We need to focus on countries with which we can develop our trade relations, such as Africa, Latin America, South America, and some Middle Eastern and neighboring countries," he said. Therefore, one should not look extremist and black and white.
In response to a question about the allegations about the signing of a similar agreement with Russia, he said: "Now the Islamic Republic of Iran is paying special attention to advancing the negotiations on a free trade agreement with Eurasia and it should be borne in mind that Russia was the main country in this area." Eurasian countries and especially Russia. But I am unaware that a plan to cooperate with this country has been written.
Zadboom added: "Therefore, a balanced view of economic and international cooperation can lead to a more balanced atmosphere for Iran's economic cooperation with all countries."
He added: "I think, with the exception of the occupying regime in Jerusalem and those who imposed sanctions on us, if Iran can expand its economic and trade cooperation with other countries to the extent that it benefits the country's economy, this issue will be part of policymakers' plans."
