Secretary of Iran's Economic Relations with Syria: Due to the serious importance of increasing the country's exports to Syria, efforts have been made to provide new facilities, both in the field of transportation and export incentives.

"Iran-Syria political relations are not short-lived and we have always been politically close to the country for the past four decades, but we must," Hassan Danaeifar said at a conference on trade opportunities with Syria. He noted that there is a need for a level of stability to increase economic cooperation, which has become possible over the past three years with the reduction of civil wars and the presence of terrorists on Syrian soil.

According to him, the presence of First Vice President Ishaq Jahangiri in Syria about three years ago laid the foundation stone for the economic reconstruction of this country with the participation of the Iranian side, and we hope that this process will be pursued more quickly.

The Secretary of Iran's Economic Relations with Syria stated that one of the main limitations in the path of economic cooperation between the two countries is the problems in the field of transportation. They are being resolved and we hope that new programs in this field will appear in the near future. One of these issues was the use of the capacity of the land borders with Iraq. Given that the government of this country issued a new directive in the field of transit about two weeks ago, we hope that this guideline will also work for trade between Iran and Syria.

Danaeifar explained: "In this project, we can connect to the Syrian land border through the two borders of Khosravi and Mehran, which will definitely lead to a boom in exports for us."

According to him, in addition to the land trade built on the 20th, an Iranian export ship will move to Syria every month, the first departure of which will be on March 11 this year.

He noted that in order for economic relations between the two countries to expand, the private sector must take the lead. In this regard, we have started negotiations to provide some incentives and reduce the ceiling of foreign exchange obligations of private sector exporters to be ready to be in Syria and to achieve these goals.
