An Iranian trade center was set up in Syria
The head of the Iran-Syria Joint Chamber, referring to the establishment of an Iranian trade center in Syria, said: "We are going to consider a flight quota for economic activists to travel to Syria."
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Keyvan Kashefi said today at the conference "Trade Opportunities and Strategies with Syria" held at the Iranian Chamber of Commerce: "The strategic depth between Iran and Syria is great, but the economic discussion has not been seriously worked . During the last two years, we have started to increase cooperation between Iran and Syria, and a lot of work has been done during these two years. For example, the Iranian Trade Center in Syria is up and running.
The head of the Iran-Syria Joint Chamber, stating that we have challenges for relations with Syria, said: "Syria, like Iran, is under sanctions, which has reduced the country's economy." So we have to work at the same level right now, which, of course, has been the height of sanctions for both countries over the years.
He added: "There is also another challenge related to the dominance of Syrian government agencies in the economic sectors of this country, but this issue can be both an advantage and a challenge."
Kashefi said: "On the other hand, the route of traffic and proximity to Syria has not been determined yet. Of course, launching a shipping line is a good step, but it must continue and the distance between these ships must reach 15 days." If Iraq fully implements the Mercury Convention, we will have a good land route with Syria.
The head of the Iran-Syria Joint Chamber said: "Another challenge is related to the banking system. Of course, according to the measures taken, if business activists want to work in Syria, they will not have a problem." There is also a problem with flights to Syria, and we intend to create a quota for economic actors.
He said: "In addition to the Iranian Trade Center in Syria, a database will be unveiled soon to introduce the main needs of the day in Syria and other information related to the market and the economy of this country."
Kashefi said: The first exhibition will be held on April 3, next year in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
The head of the Iran-Syria Joint Chamber stressed: "It is also planned to sign an arbitration agreement with Syria in order to resolve the problems if there are legal problems for economic actors."
He added: "Considering the depth of strategic relations with Syria, we suggested that in addition to increasing exports, some goods that are banned from export to Iran be exported to Syria."
