70 closed mining units in Hamadan province returned to the production cycle
Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of Hamadan Province Industry, Mining and Trade Organization announced the return of 70 inactive mining units to the production cycle and said: these mines were added to the active units of the province last year.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, "Mohammad Khaki" said in a virtual press conference with Hamedan reporters on Monday: "The president places great emphasis on the development and exploitation of mines, and this issue is a priority in the province's plans."
He pointed out: "Some of the mines are seasonal, which becomes semi-closed due to unfavorable weather conditions, and some are projects and do not require continuous activity throughout the year."
Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of Hamadan Province Industry, Mining and Trade Organization said: "Undoubtedly, the return of stagnant mines is very effective in increasing employment and production in this region and the process of regeneration and strengthening of inactive mines continues in earnest."
He reminded: out of 280 mines in Hamedan province, 80 are inactive in the field of construction materials, decorative stone, metal and non-metal stones, and their return to the production cycle is on the agenda.
Khaki added: "With the good activities carried out in the mining sector in the last five years, the production capacity of our mines has increased from 12 million and 300 thousand tons to 20 million and 500 thousand tons."

Khaki announced the amount of discovered mineral reserves in the province as 1 billion and 950 million tons and said: "Since the beginning of this year, 14 mining licenses have been issued in the province, and the activity of these units has an effective role in creating employment, increasing mining and processing."

Referring to the employment of 2,400 people in the mining sector of Hamadan province, he noted: This year, 102 people have been employed in the new mining units of this province.
Khaki also announced the issuance of 26 exploration licenses in the first 10 months of this year and said: "During this period, 18 discovery certificates have been issued to mining activists in Hamadan province."
Cutting semi-precious stones is a justifiable investment
According to him, the illegal extraction of silica ore was a 20-year-old problem in the province, which has sharply decreased in recent years with the cooperation of the judiciary and law enforcement with the Samat Organization.
The potential of Hamedan province in the field of processing precious stones was another case that this official mentioned and added: the rich reserves of these minerals justify the establishment of semi-precious stone cutting workshops and can be invested as an export product. has it.
Deputy Minister of Mines of Hamedan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization, stating that 80% of the province's mines are equipped with processing units, added: Mines that need processing will be given the necessary permits.
Referring to the development of ferrosilicon mining industries, magnesium extraction from dolomite, iron concentrate and pelletizing, Khaki emphasized: "By launching these industries, we seek to create added value and prevent the sale of raw materials in mines."
Out of 67 types of minerals in the country, 30 types are extracted and processed in the mines of Hamedan, and in total, Hamedan has about 2 billion tons of the 60 billion tons of explored reserves of the country.
