Iran's economic relations with Russia are very low
Referring to the low level of Iran's economic relations with Russia, the Iranian ambassador to Russia said: "Iran's exchanges are carried out through Azerbaijan and this country creates disturbances in its customs on the clearance of Iranian goods."
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Kazem Jalali, Iran's ambassador to Russia, said: "Iran's political, security, defense and military relations with Russia are at a high level, but unfortunately we have a poor performance in economic relations."
He added: "Russia imports about $ 270 billion annually, and Iran's share of this market is very small."
Jalali called the Iranian private sector very small and stated: "Unfortunately, price fluctuations in the Iranian market have caused the private sector to be negligent in exchanges."
Referring to the growth of Iran's exports to Russia in 2020, he said: "Export growth last year increased by 105 percent and trade volume by 43 percent."
The Iranian ambassador to Russia said that the most important obstacle to Iran-Russia trade was the problems of the shipping infrastructure and noted: "Despite the two countries' water border and the need for a proper navy, we have a great weakness in this area and mediate our exchanges through the country." We will do it.
He added: "Iran's exchanges are carried out through Azerbaijan, while this country has a very high export capacity of agricultural products and in order to gain access to the Russian market, it creates disruptions in its customs on the clearance of Iranian goods."
Jalali continued: Iran does not have a specific trustee in foreign trade with Russia and this is a major obstacle to trade between the two countries.
