Director General of Ilam Standard: Since the beginning of this year, 61,000 tons of standard goods have been exported to Iraq through the Mehran international border.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Mahnaz Hemmati stated: "One of the most important factors in exports is the observance of the standard and its indicators, and this issue can be an opportunity to pay attention to the quality of production and consequently create employment."

He added: "Paying attention to the standard is one of the tools to increase the export capacity at the Mehran border, which traders and merchants, as well as the General Directorate of Standards, should pay attention to this important issue."

The Director General of Standard of Ilam Province announced the export of 158 thousand tons of standard goods in the border of Mehran during the last year and reminded: the main goods exported under the supervision and quality control of this department during the mentioned period (last year and this year) including building stones, Iron ore, tiles, rebars, chemicals and car spare parts.

Hemmati emphasized: Also during this period, 563 items of export files including 198 products, 86 of which were exported based on their standard license, considering that they were subject to mandatory export standards.

He added: This year, 555 nature determination tests have been performed in the laboratory of the standard office of Mehran border city, most of which are related to lime and sodium carbonate.

The border city of Mehran in Ilam province, with a distance of about 230 km from Baghdad, is the closest border city of our country to the capital of Iraq and the holy shrines of this country.

This city is located 85 km southwest of Ilam.
