At the suggestion of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, a new joint trade committee between Iran and Iraq will be formed.

According to the Iran International Stone Exhibition, Massoud Khansari, President of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, met today with Abdul Mohsen Abdullah, Iraqi Ambassador to Tehran, and presented him with a new proposal from the Tehran Chamber of Commerce.
Under the proposal, a new trade committee will be set up between the Tehran Chamber of Commerce and the Commerce Department of the Iraqi Embassy in the country to make the necessary arrangements to familiarize themselves with the Iraqi market and increase the volume of joint trade between the two countries.

The proposal made by the head of the Tehran Chamber during the meeting, in this joint committee, by examining the problems and requests of businessmen and businessmen from both countries, solutions to facilitate economic cooperation will be presented.

Referring to the activation of joint trade committees between the Tehran Chamber and some embassies of neighboring countries, including Pakistan, Afghanistan and Armenia, the head of the Tehran Chamber, Massoud Khansari, stated that despite Iran's high economic relations with Iraq, some problems and obstacles On the way of the two countries' traders, there is still a way to improve the trade exchanges between the two countries by establishing a joint trade committee of the Tehran Chamber and the Iraqi embassy, ​​in addition to addressing these problems.

He also announced the readiness of the Tehran Chamber to set up a desk in the Iraqi embassy to facilitate economic relations between businessmen and businessmen of the two countries, and reminded that the establishment of a corresponding desk in the commercial section of the Iraqi embassy in the Tehran Chamber of Commerce can be done.

Khansari also announced the Tehran Chamber's preparations for hosting the chairman of the Baghdad Chamber and the country's trade delegation in the coming months, and said that in a meeting with the Iraqi trade delegation, issues and solutions to improve economic relations between the two countries' private sector will be discussed. He added: "One of the suggestions of the Tehran Chamber in this meeting is to create a joint virtual exhibition to introduce and identify the production and economic capabilities of the two countries."

The head of the Tehran Chamber also said that one of the problems for Iranian businessmen was their difficulty in obtaining visas for business trips to Iraq, and called on the Iraqi ambassador in Tehran to provide more facilities for Iranian businessmen to obtain visas.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Tehran, referring to the full readiness of the embassy to accompany the Tehran Chamber in order to solve problems and obstacles to economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, added: "According to the agreement between the governments of the two countries to increase relations." Welcoming the Tehran Chamber's plan to form a joint trade committee between the chamber and the commercial section of the Iraqi embassy, ​​he called for the establishment of exhibitions in the two countries to introduce the goods and services capabilities of the two sides' companies.

According to ISNA, Iraq has been one of the main export markets of Iran in recent years, and this year, even for a short time, it was named as the main trading partner of the country, the main destination of Iranian goods.

In recent years, due to the escalation of the civil war in Iraq, the Iraqi government has tried to ban the import of some goods to Iraq in order to increase the capacity of domestic producers, but despite this, various items of Iranian goods are still exported to this western neighbor.

Exporting services and joint ventures with Iraqi producers are the main strategies pursued by Iranian exporters in recent years.
