Head of Mines Department of Qom Industry, Mining and Trade Organization: There are 100 active mines in the province and 4 million tons of various minerals are extracted from these mines annually.

These areas should be handed over to new users during the auction process.
He added: the rest of the mines in the province have active exploitation licenses and in the meantime, 100 units are operating with employment for 2,000 tons; Factors such as the presence of local dissidents, the opposition of some executive bodies, weather conditions, as well as the spread of the Corona virus are among the cases that have caused a number of licensed mines in this sector to be inactive.
He continued: Qom province has a high capacity in terms of mines, especially metal materials, and investors interested in economic activity in the field of mining can enter in this field and use the facilities provided for issuing the necessary licenses and granting bank credits.
Kazemzadeh said: the development of mining in accordance with environmental standards in Qom has a very important role in supplying raw materials for various industries and expanding the capacity of production units and will cause the national and provincial economy to flourish as much as possible.
He said: "Mining is also one of the areas that are resistant to oppressive sanctions, and if more investment is made in the production of equipment needed for mineral extraction, self-sufficiency in this important economic area will be significantly improved."
There are 2% of mines in the whole country in Qom and this issue shows the need to pay more attention to the capacities of this area to increase the income level of the province; In this regard, the strategy of the Samat Qom Organization is to prevent the sale of raw minerals to be extracted in order to create more economic added value in the mining sector of the province by processing them.
The most important known reserves of the province include metal mines (lead, zinc, copper, manganese), non-metallic mines (kaolin, barite, salt and sodium sulfate) and mines of construction materials (decorative stones, marble, granite, carcass stones, limestone and limestone By using new projects and optimal use of these minerals, it is possible to create income-generating businesses in the field of mining industries in the province.
