Head of Mahabad Department of Industry, Mines and Trade: The third mining house of West Azerbaijan was set up with the aim of facilitating and solving the problems of miners in this city.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Mohammad Jahin added: Mahabad, with its active mines and considering the per capita extraction and loading of minerals, is considered as one of the poles of this industry in the province, which due to its importance, is the third mine house. West Azerbaijan was established and started operating in this city.
He continued: "By establishing a mine house in Mahabad, the exploiters can easily reflect their issues and problems online and refer to a much higher level."
The head of Mahabad Department of Industry, Mines and Trade stated: "One of the most important tasks of this house is to upgrade the scientific and technological level in mineral production, establish processing factories and mineral industries, upgrade the level of specialized activities, facilitate problem solving, marketing and create necessary grounds for attendance." Jahin, referring to the 130% increase in the production of mines in this city this year, said: In this city, 74 mining licenses have been issued and 17 mineral processing units are active.
He stated: Since the beginning of this year, 473 thousand and 769 tons of various minerals have been extracted from the active mines of this city, which has doubled compared to the same period of the previous year.
He pointed out that 12 types of minerals are mined in this city, adding: the most important and most extracted rocks include 210,000 tons of sand, 121,000 tons of iron ore and 540,000 tons of dolomite, respectively.
He considered Mahabad as one of the main centers for the extraction of barite ore in the country and said: During the first 9 months of this year, 22,000 tons of this type of ore have been extracted, which is 2,000 tons more than the same period last year.
Jahin, stating that this year four mines in the city have been active with the problem of eliminating financial resources and have returned to the mineral extraction cycle, added: At present, 40% of all mining materials in this city are processed and the rest due to lack of machinery to Tabriz and Isfahan Will be sent.
Some of the city's mineral products, including decorative stones, travertine, marble and granite, are also exported to neighboring countries such as Turkey, Afghanistan, Iraq and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
There are 51 of the 68 types of minerals identified in the country in West Azerbaijan; Currently, 468 mines are active in the province and 5,122 people are directly working in the mines of this province.
