Sanctions have drawn attention to mining development
Head of Iran's Mining Engineering Organization: Cruel sanctions have led government officials to focus on solving the problems of mines and developing investment in them, and has created a favorable outlook for this sector.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Taghi Nabi added: "Since last year, the country's economic turn towards the mine has progressed and this year the situation of the mine is better than previous years."
He continued: "Mineral reserves are valuable and their processing has the least dependence on foreign countries and the impact of sanctions on them has been less, so mines, especially metal mines such as iron ore, copper, lead and zinc are booming and compared to other mines." They are more suitable.
Commencement of activation of 4700 stagnant mines in the country
The head of the Mining Engineering System Organization of Iran said: out of about 11,000 mining licenses that have been issued in the country so far, 6,000 licenses are active, but 4,700 licenses have not been activated for various reasons.
Nabi added: "This year's plan of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade is to activate about one thousand out of four thousand and 700 inactive mines in the country so that their problems are solved and they return to the activity cycle."
He continued: "On this basis, in the first place, the problems of closed mines in the country are being counted, and the Mining Engineering System Organization is cooperating with the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade as a consultant in order to solve the problems."
He said that the main problems of stagnant mines are due to local factors or various government agencies that were opposed to investing in the mining sector, lack of liquidity for investment, wear and tear of machinery and the lack of mining industries commensurate with mineral reserves.
The head of the Mining Engineering Organization of Iran, stating that many problems of stagnant mines are referred to the Supreme Council of Mines, said: More than 250 cases of stagnant mines are reviewed and assigned weekly in the Supreme Council of Mines, the main problems in the field of law And there have been rules and restrictions related to the guidelines.
He added: "Part of the stagnant mines is also in the hands of the opposition, and this problem is being investigated and resolved in the form of working groups called the interaction working group or the repeated Article 24 working group of the Mining Law."
20% of inactive mines are monopolized individually
Nabi continued: 20% of the stagnant mines in the country are owned by people who do not want to start mining and have kept it as an investment for their future.
He said: "The government gave the miners a three-month deadline to reactivate them. This deadline will expire soon, and if they do not work, the mines will be handed over to the applicants through auctions."
The head of the Iranian Mining Engineering Organization added: "So far, some of the goals of activating stagnant mines in the country have been achieved and it is hoped that by the end of the year, the ultimate goal of activating one thousand stagnant mines in the country will be achieved."
Eliminate redundant laws in the field of mining
He considered the existence of some laws and regulations, such as instructions related to the field of natural resources, to be detrimental to the activities of mines in the country.
Nabi continued: "Some of these laws and instructions, which are mostly related to the years 1393 and 1394, have been raised many times by the Deputy Minister of Mines of the Ministry of Industry and the head of the Forests Organization in the meetings of the Supreme Council of Mines to speed up mining activities."
He said: "One of the legal cases is that if the natural resources departments in the provinces do not issue a permit for mining activities for any reason, this issue should be investigated and the problem should be solved in the interaction working group chaired by the governor."
Multiplication capacity of the mine
The head of Iran's Mining Engineering Organization, stating that many of the country's mining capacity is not in the economic cycle, added: "Many experts in the mining field and even economic fields believe that if the mining sector is active and enters the economy, many times more current mining experts and engineers and graduates We need a university in this field.
He continued: "Investment in the mining sector is employment-generating and leads to the development of deprived areas, but due to the oil economy in the country, many investments have been directed towards government decisions in the field of oil."
Nabi said: "The mining sector has far more jobs than oil and Iran is one of the 10 countries with mineral reserves in the world, but since full investment has not been made in this sector, the mining sector has not grown in proportion to its capacity and many Experts, university graduates and members of the Mining Engineering Organization of Iran are involved in other professions besides mining.
He added: "If the same amount of investment was made in the mining sector of the country as in South Pars, 15 to 20 times more jobs would have been created in South Pars, and the various industries that could be created in the mining sector would have multiplied job opportunities." Was increasing.
The head of the Mining Engineering System Organization of Iran continued: to solve the employment problem of experts and graduates of mining engineering fields in the country, the capacity of mines should be used optimally and better investment should be made by planning.
He said: The Organization of Mining Engineering System has used its maximum capacity in different provinces, especially Khorasan Razavi, due to having desirable mineral reserves, and has even defined and announced new jobs in the mining sector.
41,000 members of the Mining Engineering System Organization
Nabi added: "This organization has more than 41,000 members in the country, of which 12,000 to 13,000 have employment licenses from the Ministry of Industry, most of whom are active in the mining sector."
He continued: "According to estimates, about 30% of mining university graduates in the country are employed in various sectors, including exploration, extraction and processing of mining sectors."
The head of Iran's Mining Engineering Organization said: "If the infrastructure of the mining field is developed, the problems in this sector are solved and the necessary investment is made in it, the investment risk in this sector will decrease and the security of investment in the mine will increase." University graduates should be attracted to the mining sector, which is seven times the current situation.
He added: "All the capacities of this organization have been used in order to be able to regulate and follow the instructions and regulations with maximum employment for the members of the organization."
