Minister of Industry emphasizes to draw a $ 20 billion trade plan with Iraq
The Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade stressed the need to draw a roadmap for achieving a $ 20 billion trade capacity between Iran and Iraq, and noted that the country ranks first in the Islamic Republic's exports to its neighbors.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Alireza Razm Hosseini, in a meeting with Iraqi Minister of Commerce Alaa Ahmad Al-Jubouri, added: "The strategy of the Ministry of Industry in the field of international trade is to export to 15 neighboring countries. 70% of Iran's exports to these countries were implemented this year."
Iraq is Iran's first export destination to neighboring countries
Announcing that Iraq is the number one exporter of Iran to neighboring countries, he stressed: Iran seeks to expand and deepen trade to improve exports.
Razm Hosseini explained about some of our country's capacities: Today, steel production has reached 30 million tons, a capacity of 400,000 tons has emerged in the copper field, and the export of eight billion dollars of metals was also mentioned.
He added: "In the near future, Iran will reach a production capacity of more than 52 million tons of steel and in the next four years will be among the top 10 countries in the field of copper production, and these capacities are good grounds for deepening trade relations between Iran and It is Iraq.
Preparation for specialized exhibitions in Iraq
The Minister of Industry also stressed Iran's readiness to hold specialized exhibitions in major Iraqi cities and to work in the field of industrial modernization and improvement, and said: "Now, despite sanctions, good steps have been taken in the field of home appliance production by domestic producers. It is one of the suitable grounds for deepening the cooperation between the two countries.
Preparing for cross-border cultivation in Iraq
Razm Hosseini also stressed the readiness of our country for cross-border cultivation of wheat, barley and corn in Iraq and added: "Now, considering the appropriate capacities in the field of land and arable land in Iraq, by creating stable and long-term trade and coordination of related agencies of the two countries." , Can create employment and development that the Iranian state trading company in interaction and coordination with the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad in this area can be a customer.
Preparation for joint ventures in the automotive industry with Iraqis
He also stressed the need to facilitate the affairs of production units and Iranian technical engineering services companies in Iraq and said: "Today, Iran is ready to cooperate in the field of automobile manufacturing or establish a joint venture in Iraq and joint ventures.
The Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade also emphasized the settlement of our country's claims in Iraqi banks by remittance or purge and called on Iraq to cooperate in this area.
Announcing that the Ministry of Industry has a capacity of several billion dollars for exports, Razm Hosseini added: "A joint committee should be established with the participation of the private sector of the two countries and as two ministries, we should provide the path and presence of the two countries in trade."
According to the report, the total value of Iran's exports to Iraq in the first nine months of this year was 20 million tons worth five billion and 900 million dollars.
