Director General of the Arab-African Office of the Trade Development Organization of Iran: The total value of Iran's exports to Iraq in the first nine months of this year was about $ 5.9 billion in value and about 20 million tons in weight, an increase of 7% compared to the same period last year In weight.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Farzad Pilten stated the following: During the first 9 months of this year, the Iraqi market with 23.6% of the country's export share has been ranked second among Iran's export target countries and first among neighboring countries. 

Regarding Iran's main exports to Iraq, he added: iron rods, tomatoes, watermelons, water coolers, tomato paste, steam turbine parts, cheese, biscuits, chocolate and sweets, plastics, pistachios, kitchen tableware, urea, Edible eggs, plastic household appliances, fresh apples, ice cream, bread, melons, polymer plates, floor coverings, cement, cream and milk are the most important non-oil, non-gas and electricity exports from Iran to Iraq.

The director general of the Arab-African office said the closure of border crossings and trade markets between the two countries for about three months, as well as the closure of trade events such as trade fairs and conferences, trade delegations with Iraq for about a year due to outbreak conditions. The Corona virus, export restrictions on steel, tightening restrictions and bans on Iraqi imports of agricultural products, and declining dairy exports compared to last year have been among the most important barriers to exports to Iraq this year.

In the end, Pilten noted: The Trade Development Organization of Iran strengthens by planning to hold two special exhibitions in Baghdad and Erbil, an exhibition pavilion in Sulaimaniyah, a virtual exhibition in March this year, taking advantage of the opportunity to hold a joint economic commission in Tehran. The activities of the Iraqi desk and its trade advisor in Baghdad, as well as the strengthening of export infrastructure in the provinces bordering Iraq, are trying to compensate for the decrease in exports caused by the above conditions by the end of the year.
