Deputy Minister of Mining Industries of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Industry, Mining and Trade Organization, referring to the activity of 132 active mines in the province, said: The definite reserve of mines in this province is estimated at 796 million and 102 thousand tons.
According to the International Stone Exhibition of Iran, Mehrdad Ghasemi Dastgerdi, noting that there are eight types of minerals in this province, including building decorative stone, cement raw materials, gypsum, sand and silica, refractory soil and dolomite in this province, added: Currently, more than 1,533 people are working in the mining sector of the province, which, if activated in 63 inactive mines in the province, will create a boom in the production and employment sectors.
Deputy Minister of Mining Industries of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Industry, Mining and Trade Organization stated: Mines are considered as economic drivers in any country and due to the vastness of minerals and the existence of valuable reserves in the province, investing in this sector in the coming years of economic growth It will have a shine for the province.
He added: The conversion industries of this province are active only in the sectors of processing and extraction of decorative stone, production of cement, lime and gypsum.
Ghasemi announced the extraction of 4 million and 10 thousand tons of minerals in the province during the first 9 months and said: the development, exploitation and activation of inactive mines and the provision of banking facilities increased the mineral extraction of this province by about 30%.
He mentioned the environmental and natural resource constraints as the most important obstacle to attracting investors in the province's mines and stressed: Although these executive bodies in charge have instructions not to agree to exploration in these pristine natural areas, but on the other hand valuable mineral reserves. It lies in these areas that can be extracted to create a great change in the province.
He estimated the annual income of the government from the mining sector of this province at seven billion and 500 million Rials and added: this amount has reached more than 12 billion Rials on average in the government of prudence and hope.
According to this report, there are 164 inactive mines with an investment of 671 billion rials in the province, which has created employment for about 1,533 people.
