During the first nine months of this year, 176 small mines were rehabilitated and activated
According to statistics published by the Organization for Development and Renovation of Mines and Mining Industries of Iran (Imidro), 176 mines in different regions have been rehabilitated and activated from the beginning of this year to December in line with the plan to rehabilitate, activate and develop small-scale mines.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, during the first 9 months of this year, 781 mines have been identified and prioritized, and 376 mines have undergone clinical action. Also, during the mentioned period, 12 processing factories have been built with the cooperation of the private sector.
Currently, there are about 4495 inactive mines in the country. They are spread all over the country, most of them in the provinces of Khorasan Razavi and the least of them are located in the south of Kerman and North Khorasan. 257 mines are being equipped in the framework of small-scale mining rehabilitation, activation and development plan.
According to the plans, by the end of this year, the rehabilitation and activation of 200 mines and the construction of 25 processing units have been targeted.
It should be noted that 146 mines were rehabilitated and activated last year.
