The license for stagnant mines will be revoked soon
Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade: The three-month period for activating stagnant and imprisoned mines is coming to an end, and the exploration and exploitation license for such mines will be revoked soon.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Alireza Razm Hosseini said at the inauguration ceremony of the Meshginshahr Copper and Molybdenum Concentrate Plant: "The Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade is determined to release the stagnant, imprisoned and inactive mines and in this regard has given its authority to the council It has ceded the mines to the provinces.
He said: "Good opportunities have been created for exploration and mining in the country, and in this regard, non-ferrous metal mines such as copper and molybdenum are in the priority of support and activation."
Razm Hosseini also said: the income of the mining sector is not less than the income of oil, so that in the current period of sanctions, Iran's steel and petrochemical sector was able to largely eliminate the negative effects of sanctions.
He added: "Due to the activity of the mineral production sector, the abundance of mining-related goods in the market is evident, and some related goods also enter the market through mineral purification."
The Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade called the construction of a copper and molybdenum concentrate plant in Meshginshahr an important step to use the mineral capacity of Ardabil province and added: with the launch of this plant, in addition to economic prosperity, the employment sector will become more active.
15,000 billion rials have been invested to set up this mining and industrial unit, and in the first phase of the construction of this unit, 350 people will be employed directly and 2,000 people will be employed indirectly.
The Director General of Industry, Mining and Trade of Ardabil Province announced at the start of the executive operation of this project that five mining zones with 12 mines with exploration licenses have been identified in Ardabil Province, two of which are located in Meshginshahr city.
Ramin Sadeghi said: Meshginshahr copper mine is one of the mines with high reserves in the country, whose initial reserves are estimated at 160 million tons, and copper and molybdenum will be extracted and processed from this mine with the launch of this factory.
Director General of Industry, Mining and Trade of Ardabil Province added: According to experts, the reserves of this mine can be increased up to three times.
He announced the production capacity of copper in this industrial and mining unit as 10,000 tons and the production capacity of molybdenum as 100 tons.
Sadeghi stated: The entrance soil of the copper and molybdenum production section of this industrial unit has been harvested from an area of 33 square kilometers and its processing factory with an area of 50 hectares will be constructed in the lands near the mine in 2 years.
