Electricity tariffs for industrial units will increase
Secretary of the Federation of Energy Exports: One of the measures taken by the government in order to make the rates of energy carriers real is to increase the electricity tariff of industrial units.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Seyed Hamid Reza Salehi, Secretary of the Energy Export Federation, stated that in the Omid electricity project, the electricity that is exempted from this project covers a consumption range of less than 80 kilowatts per month. It can reach a small population, and if we want to choose the right way to help low-income households, it is better to help the country's infrastructure, including the electricity industry, so that we do not see widespread blackouts. Because the shutdown of the domestic, industrial and manufacturing sectors will hit the country's economy and the household economy.
He added: "The same blackouts due to the infrastructural problems of the country's electricity industry can seriously damage the income of families who are included in the electricity plan by closing economic units." On the other hand, the electricity bill of the households included in this plan is not significant and does not have much impact on the household economy.
20% of the country's electricity demand is industrial
This member of the Energy Commission of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce said: "If we want to help low-income families with this plan, in addition to encouraging them to save electricity consumption, it is better to increase the range to 140 kW;" The government has plans to make energy prices more realistic, starting with the electricity industry and the industrial sector, and we are seeing an increase in electricity tariffs in the industrial sector.
According to Salehi, the next step in helping the electricity economy is to meet the needs of units that use more than 5 megawatts of electricity from the stock exchange. In this way, we can move the electricity rate towards realization, of course, within a period of one year.
The Secretary of the Energy Export Federation, emphasizing that freeing electricity is not logical given the weak economy of this industry, clarified: 20% of the country's electricity demand is by units that use up to 5 megawatts of electricity that must meet their needs through the stock exchange . This trend can be the beginning of realizing the price of electricity. We can continue to see the presence of other sectors in the stock market to provide the electricity needed.
