Factors affecting the decline of the country's foreign trade this year
Member of the Board of Directors of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce: The country's economy is straightening under the pressure of sanctions, given the country's trade situation in the first 9 months of this year, we will reach last year's exports.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Seyed Hamid Hosseini said about the situation of our country's foreign trade in the first 9 months of this year: "In total, the country's foreign trade was $ 52 billion, of which $ 25 billion was the country's exports and about $ 27 billion." It is the amount of imports into the country.
A member of the board of directors of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce, added: "These figures show a 17 to 20 percent decrease in imports and exports compared to the same period last year, and therefore this figure is not very acceptable given the country's trade situation in previous years."
"In addition to the sanctions and restrictions imposed on it, our country's trade was affected by the corona this year," he said. "In general, the trade and economic growth of different countries worldwide was affected by the corona, and only two countries, China and Turkey, claimed." They have had positive economic growth during this period.
Hosseini stated: "According to this, both the sanctions and the resulting restrictions and the trade restrictions caused by the corona damaged the state of trade, in other words, the export and import of our country."
He said that while Iran's economy was expected to shrink by about 5 and a half percent due to the country's conditions and we will face negative economic growth this year, he said: "But the Central Bank announced that economic growth in the past 9 months is negative." The Statistics Center of Iran has also stated that the country's economic growth is negative one percent, which is good news and shows that the country's economy is straightening under the pressure of sanctions and has been able to neutralize the effects of sanctions.
He said: "Statistics show that November inflation is lower than last year and this is a positive event in the country's economy."
Hosseini, expressing hope that the pressure of European countries on the United States will cause the United States to return to the UN Security Council, said: "If this happens, we can certainly expect positive developments in the field of foreign trade."
Referring to the country's $ 25 billion exports in the first nine months of this year, he said: "Given this amount of exports, it is unlikely that we will reach the amount of exports last year."
A member of the board of directors of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce said: "In previous years, the country's monthly exports averaged $ 4 billion, compared to $ 25 billion in exports in the first nine months of this year, which indicates exports of about $ 3 billion a month." It is unlikely that we will reach last year's exports.
