The head of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of West Azerbaijan announced the construction of two large-scale stone processing units in the province with the aim of preventing the sale of raw materials in the province.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Gholamreza Babaei, regarding the latest situation and measures in the field of issues and problems facing the province's mines, added: "Raw sales and lack of processing units are among the most important problems in the province's mines. Large-scale stone processing unit will be built in the south and north of the province due to the high potential of decorative stones.

He added that the initial steps to set up these processing units and the investor of these projects have been identified and will soon enter the implementation phase, adding that the use of mineral resources to reduce dependence on oil revenues, improve public revenues and create jobs on the agenda. There is special work.

The head of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of West Azerbaijan Province added: "In order to prevent the sale of raw minerals in the province and create added value of minerals in the province, 665 mineral processing units are operating."

Babaei pointed out: he stated: 13 thousand and 869 billion Rials have been invested to set up these units, which has provided direct employment for 18 thousand and 658 people.

Referring to the high capacity of West Azerbaijan province in the field of minerals, especially decorative stones, he said: "West Azerbaijan is in the top ranks of the country in terms of diversity of minerals, especially decorative stones, and many programs are being implemented to create this God-given opportunity." More processing units within the province are considered by the organization.

Babaei described the establishment of processing units in the province's mines as a significant step in completing the mining chain and developing infrastructure in the province, and said: "Currently, mining units and mining industries in the province have directly provided employment for 23,865 people." 

The head of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of West Azerbaijan announced the absorption of 1.5 billion tomans of the state right of mines, especially the mines of Takab city, and added: a large part of this credit will be spent on development projects and infrastructure development in the region, especially Takab.

Babaei stated: There are 494 mines in West Azerbaijan province with valid exploitation licenses with a mining capacity of more than 16 million tons per year and a definite reserve of 1,222 million tons, which have provided direct employment for 5,207 people.

He added: "Currently, 187 mining areas have exploration licenses and 52 mines have exploration certificates, which with the operation of these mines and areas, both mineral extraction capacity and job creation in the province's mines will increase."
