More than 23,000 people are employed in the mines and mining industries of West Azerbaijan
The Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of West Azerbaijan said: 23 thousand 865 people are directly employed in the mines and mining industries of this province, more than 78% of whom work in the processing of mineral items.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Parisa Abedpour added: "Currently, there are 494 mines with valid exploitation licenses with a mining capacity of more than 16 million tons per year and a definite reserve of 1,222 million tons in West Azerbaijan, which provides direct employment." Has provided for 5,207 people.
He added: "Currently, there are 187 mining areas with exploration licenses and 52 mines with exploration certificates. With the operation of these mines and areas, both mineral extraction capacity and job creation in the province's mines will increase."
The Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of West Azerbaijan said: "In order to prevent the sale of raw minerals in the province and create added value of minerals, 665 mineral processing units are operating in the province."
Abedpour added: 13 thousand 869 billion Rials have been invested to set up these units and direct employment has been provided for 18 thousand 658 people.
Referring to the high capacity of West Azerbaijan in the field of minerals, especially decorative stones, he said: "This province is in the top ranks of the country in terms of diversity of these materials, including decorative stones, and many programs are being implemented to take advantage of this opportunity." And the organization intends to create more processing units within the province.
West Azerbaijan is one of the least prosperous provinces in the country in terms of industry, but with the implementation of the law to get out of the recession, good measures were taken to return the production and industrial units of this province to the production circuit.
