Restricting export markets to several countries is a weakness of exports

Chairman of the Qom Chamber of Commerce: Restricting Iran's export markets to a few specific countries is a serious weakness for exports, while expanding relations with various countries leaves exports and investment activities fragile.
According to the International Iran Stone Exhibition, the head of the Qom Chamber of Commerce considers the focus on certain markets to be a fragile factor for the country's exports and believes: It is effective and important.
The head of the Qom Chamber of Commerce blamed the country's weakness in economic diplomacy for failing to expand the country's export and investment markets and suggested that using professionals familiar with economic issues in Iranian embassies could help strengthen the country's international relations.
Abolfazl Khaki considered the restriction of Iran's export markets to several countries as a serious weakness for exports and emphasized: The expansion of Iran's relations with different countries frees exports and investment activities from fragility and makes us have many economic partners in different parts of the world.
This economic activist believes: paying special attention to neighboring countries was one of Iran's policies and priorities during the embargo period, but unfortunately, due to infrastructure reasons, we could not use this important capacity. For example, we had good opportunities to enter the Russian market, but it was lost. Entering a market, in addition to the basic issues, requires infrastructure and facilities along with government support.
He continued: "For example, in my personal experience about 30 years ago, I was surprised by the amount of government support for foreign investment in this country." We entered into negotiations with the British side for participation and investment, and during this time we talked for several hours with the second charge d'affaires of the British embassy. This shows the extent to which government support from embassies in target countries can help strengthen the position of economic actors in the target market.
The member of the Board of Representatives of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce considered the lack of effective and strategic support for private sector activists as one of the harmful and weakening factors in the business process and continued: We need skilled and capable people in our embassies; People who know the market and make it easier for them to invest, trade and buy raw materials from the target countries.
In another part of his speech, Khaki said that one of the serious weaknesses in trade is the lack of proper transportation equipment and fleet in the country and said: "We do not have a suitable refrigerated fleet to transport all kinds of food, flowers, plants and perishable items." On the other hand, the air transportation system can not be responsible for this part. Therefore, in order to improve the foreign trade conditions of the country, various issues should be considered and each of them has its own role and position in this process.
