Governor of Khorasan Razavi: Soon the owners of the mines that are stagnant will be disqualified and their mines will be handed over in a public auction.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Mohammad Sadegh Motamedian in the strategic meeting of the province's mines development, considered mines as one of the drivers of the province's development and added: "In this regard, we try to have a more prominent role of large companies, government and private sector."

He pointed to the high capacity of the mines of Khorasan Razavi and reminded the rich people of this province in this regard: up-to-date and accurate solutions should be provided for the exploitation of the mines.

The governor of Khorasan Razavi described exploration, extraction and processing as three important stages in the field of mines and said: in the field of exploration, the focus should be on systematic programs and using the capacity of the Geological Survey and aerial geophysics should be expanded in the province.

Motamedian emphasized on increasing the number of mines in the province and added: "Development of active mines and activation of inactive mines are among our programs in the field of mining."

He considered the share of employment in Khorasan mines low and added: the development of mines, especially the development of mining industries will cause direct and indirect job creation.

٠٩٠ There are valid mining licenses in Khorasan Razavi, of which 40 are semi-active and stagnant. Also in Khorasan Razavi, about 11,000 people are directly employed in the mining sector.

The main metal mineral capacities of Khorasan Razavi are in iron ore, copper and chromite and in the non-metallic mines sector in decorative stone and industrial soil.
