The definite reserves of the mines of West Azerbaijan are about 1.2 million tons
Referring to the existence of 489 mines in the province, the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of West Azerbaijan said: The definitive reserve of these mines is 1 million 6 thousand 657 tons.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Parisa Abedpour, noting that 68 types of minerals have been identified in the country, said: 75% of this number is in this province.
He continued: "With this statistic, there are 51 types of this number in this province, which is in the stage of exploration and exploitation."
He stated: At present, more than five thousand people have been directly employed in the mining sector of the province.

West Azerbaijan is one of the richest provinces in the field of mining, but the lack of processing units leads to the sale of raw materials of many of these minerals.
