Deputy Minister of Mines and Mineral Exploration of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of Kurdistan Province: So far, the average depth of exploration in the country has been half a meter, while this figure has been reported up to 400 meters in the world. As for why we still do not pay attention to deep exploration in the country, it should be said that we have not yet felt the need and do not have much foresight in our plans.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, all minerals that have been identified in the country; Thus, surface mines in the country are either in operation or nearing completion. Given this, we expect the Geological Survey to conduct in-depth exploration.

Regarding the importance of deep exploration, where there is no exploration, there is no reason to say that there is no mineral. It may not be found on the surface of the mineral, but deep precious metals can be found deep in the same area. Since most of the country's deep mines are metal ores such as iron ore, copper and gold, it is worthwhile for us to go deeper into the earth.

The importance of this issue is doubled due to the need of the country for the prosperity of the mining sector. Given that the country today needs to increase production and contribute to economic growth, increasing in-depth exploration can help. Given that exploration at another level is over, we must move on to in-depth exploration; This has been done in developed countries for many years and they have not had any problems in this regard.

So far, the average depth of exploration in the country has been half a meter, while this figure has been reported in the world up to 400 meters. As to why we still do not pay attention to deep exploration in the country, we have not yet felt the need and do not have much foresight in our plans. If we pay attention to the fact that before the resources run out, one day they will run out and we will have to look for an alternative, we will no longer be confused and worried when it happens.

Regarding the studies conducted in Kurdistan province and recent attention to deep exploration, it should be said that in 1397, about 7 promising areas of gold and iron ore were identified in this region, which was the first step to pay attention to deep exploration. Excavation is scheduled to take place this year, as well as other areas in the province.

In the end, it should be said that the exploration stage is a risky stage and the private sector cannot enter it; So we expect the government to come in and pay for its growth. The government should provide funding and support to various groups, such as the Geological Survey, which is working to grow exploration in the country.
