President of the Export Confederation of Iran: In early 1390, the export of our technical engineering services amounted to $ 4 billion, but today our technical engineering services have reached $ 500 million.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Mohammad Lahouti said about the effects of a possible US return to Borjam: Mr. Biden promised in the election that he will return to Borjam and his condition was that Iran return to the previous situation. Now that he has been elected, it remains to be seen how much he will live up to this promise.

He added: "Of course, Iran, which was in Borjam, but due to the withdrawal of the United States under Trump, in practice, Borjam's framework and conditions, such as the lifting of sanctions, could not help the Iranian economy and change the situation."

The head of the Confederation of Exports of Iran said: "If Biden is determined to return to Borjam and lift the sanctions, it can certainly affect our foreign trade, especially the issues that were seen in Borjam." For example, in the first months we saw a large presence of business delegations in the country for investment, but now if the sanctions are lifted unilaterally again, the way will be opened for investment, but it remains to be seen how serious he is about the issue he raises and how much he wants it. To do so, of course, looking at the performance of Americans, one can not very much hope for these promises.

He pointed out: "The issue of attracting investment is not only financial resources, and what should be important for us is the transfer of technical knowledge to the country, joint foreign investment and ultimately export-oriented production." Therefore, investing to meet domestic needs, no matter what the quality and circumstances, should not be considered.

In response to a question about the export of technical and engineering services to Qarabagh, Lahouti said: "Iran is an influential and well-known country in the field of technical and engineering services." We have very powerful and reputable companies in this field. At the beginning of 1390, the export of our technical engineering services amounted to 4 billion dollars. Because both guarantees were easy to issue and export incentives enabled these companies to compete with their counterparts. But in 2012, the peak of exports of technical engineering services, incentives were suddenly removed and guarantees were faced with problems, and today technical engineering services have reached $ 500 million.

He added: "There is a very good capacity in the country that can be used not only in Nagorno-Karabakh but more importantly in Syria and Iraq." Providing infrastructure means facilitating the issuance of guarantees commensurate with the volume of contracts, establishing banking relations and supporting exporters of engineering technical services by paying incentives. These can awaken this dormant capacity and have a huge volume of currency. Unfortunately, in the last 7 or 8 years, this issue has not been considered and has been neglected. Qarabagh, given the good communication that exists, can be one of the opportunities for Iranians to export technical and engineering services, and we can use this market.

Lahouti added: "Iran's exports to Azerbaijan and Armenia were interrupted for a short time, but with the calming of the war and the stabilization of peace and stability in the region, we can eliminate this shortcoming." At the same time, with the war that arose and the damage that was inflicted, we can today have more exports by exporting construction goods and technical and engineering services.
