The government has not taken any practical steps to expand the export of decorative stones

The secretary of the Iranian Stone Association, stating that the lack of incentives has taken away from the manufacturer, said: the government has not taken any practical action to expand the export of decorative stones.
According to the International Stone Exhibition of Iran, Ahmad Sharifi, referring to 2,100 licenses for the exploitation of decorative stones in the country, said: "Of these, one thousand mines are active and the rest are inactive and are operating with one third of the capacity of decorative stones mines in the country." And this can involve a variety of factors.
He said that the current situation shows a decrease in the consumption of decorative stones, adding: "Economic conditions have caused a significant decrease in consumption in the market compared to the past, and accordingly, in the processing sector, units are operating with one third capacity."
The secretary of the Association of Decorative Stones of Iran, stating that we do not face any particular problem in terms of facilities and forces in the country, said: In order to create these conditions for the market of decorative stones, it will be difficult for our producers to be present in the global market.
"Domestic consumption of decorative stones is also limited," he said. "It is necessary for the government to create special consortia in this area, while in the current situation, exports are weak and brokers are moving in the market, and prices are not real. The goal is easily accessible.
Ashrafi stated that the government has not taken any practical steps to develop the export of decorative stones, adding that Turkey has been able to make such progress because it has created any incentives for manufacturers in the field of decorative stones, while Iran's potential is the same as Turkey's. There is no incentive to do so, and that is why we are lagging behind.
