The role of mining organizations in improving the quality of mines
Secretary General of the Iranian Stone Association: There are problems in the field of stone mines in the country that have caused Iranian stone to not have the expected quality and can not compete with other countries.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Iran is located on one of the main orogenic belts in the world. Occurrence of orogenic and tectonic activities has led to the formation of valuable minerals with a potential reserve of 54 billion tons in Iran.
With about 68 types of minerals, 37 billion tons of discovered reserves and 57 billion tons of potential reserves, Iran is among the 15 mineral powers in the world and is one of the richest countries in terms of mineral assets. According to statistics, Iran owns 7% of the world's mines, which according to estimates, the value of Iran's mines is estimated at $ 100 billion, and if invested, this number will increase. All this while mineral production constitutes only 0.6% of the country's GDP.
Iranian stone does not have the expected quality
Stone is one of the most important and most lucrative minerals in Iran, which faces many problems.
Secretary General of the Iranian Stone Association, stating that various factors are involved in reducing the quality of Iran's stone industry, said: "There are problems in the field of stone mines that have caused Iranian stone does not have the expected quality and can not compete with other countries."
Ahmad Sharifi, referring to the quality problems in the field of stone mining exploration, stated: "From the beginning of the" mineral value chain ", we are faced with the issue of exploration. By examining this issue, we will find that the situation of rock mining exploration in the country is not very suitable; In other words, the exploration plans of the country do not have the necessary quality, there is no scientific study in the implementation of exploration plans, and thus the designs are principled and engineered and are not based on fault information.
Quality problems of machines
Referring to the quality problems of the mining sector in the field of machinery, Sharifi said: "Unfortunately, many equipment and machinery in the mines are worn out and not according to current world standards." Thus, the efficiency and quality of the country's mines is very low; For example, if other countries extract 35% of quality stone from mines, this number is less than 20% in our country.
Stone production statistics
The Secretary General of the Iranian Stone Association, referring to the statistics of decorative stone production in the country, said: Although it is not possible to provide accurate statistics, but relatively it can be said that the annual production of decorative stone mines is about 10 million tons. According to our knowledge of different mines in the country, out of 10 million tons, only about 30% of hexagonal slate is extracted from the mine as standard. The importance of this issue is more understood due to the fact that hexagonal slate can be exported and is better used in processing units.
Expect from the Ministry
Asked what he expects from the ministry, Sharifi said: The Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade should provide more support to mining activists. Also, if the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade provides the possibility that part of the government salary is spent on studies and additional explorations, we will see an increase in production efficiency and obtaining standard stone in the country. This will help us to have more production in the mines.
Readiness to increase the quality of the mining sector
The Secretary General of the Iranian Stone Association, pointing to the need to take seriously the activities of activists and organizations in the mining sector, stated: " Iranian Stone Association should request expert help to witness quantitative and qualitative improvements in the mining sector. He emphasized: The Iranian Stone Association is ready to help the ministry to develop and improve the quality of the mining sector.
