Significant changes may await the foreign exchange market
"I think the currency market is going to stabilize in the coming days," he said. Significant changes may await the foreign exchange market.
According to the Iran International Stone Exhibition, Abdolnasser Hemmati, after meeting with members of the National Security Committee of the parliament, called issues such as currency market fluctuations, foreign trade, the country's foreign exchange reserves and maintaining the value of the national currency and goods left in customs among the main concerns of the delegates. He added: "I explained to the delegates that by the order of the President, good decisions were made and it was decided that the Customs and the Ministry of Industry would clear the basic goods, raw materials and goods required by the factories as soon as possible."
Hemmati said that another main issue was how exporters and importers interacted, adding that a good package was designed to streamline relations between exporters and importers, which would help the country's trade balance grow well in the second half of this year, God willing.
Announcing that all the measures taken will have a positive impact on the Iranian economy and the foreign exchange market, he added: "The effects of these measures will gradually become apparent."
"People saw that the price of foreign currencies fell a little bit, and I think in the days to come," the governor said, noting that he had recently warned investors about the unrealistic exchange rate and risks in the market. This trend will continue in the future and the foreign exchange market will move towards stability.
"Significant changes may await the foreign exchange market," he said.
