The mining sector seeks to deepen ties with universities
Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade: Today, the mining and mineral industries sector is thinking of deep connections with universities, and applied research that can meet the needs of industry is in demand.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Khodadad Gharibpour on Tuesday at Sharif University of Technology and the Intelligence Center and Technology Observatory of this university, added: "Although there are prominent universities in the country and world-class professors and scientists, but industries In terms of technology and knowledge, it is dependent on the outside.
He added: "Today in the petrochemical industry it depends on reactors, compressors and furnaces, in the cement industry it depends on technical knowledge, furnaces and in the steel industry it depends on graphite electrodes and casting machines, while in other industries such as copper, aluminum, etc." There is also dependence on the outside.
The Chairman of the Executive Board of Imidro had previously explained: In 18 months (ending in September of this year), this organization signed about 85 billion Tomans contracts with universities and the number of these contracts is 219 items, including technical knowledge of rare earth elements and construction and research. In the field of deep drilling in the country.
Other contracts include waste management of Imidro subsidiaries, emergency response, reduction of greenhouse gases, provision of dump truck driving simulator and investment model in Parsian region and studies and how to extract deep water in Sangan region (Khorasan Razavi).
Creating the structure of industry-university relationship
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Imidro pointed out: The establishment of centers such as (Intelligence Center and Unidro) has already provided the ground for institutionalization to strengthen the relationship between the two sectors of industry and academia.
He said: "In this regard, this year, Imino complex was inaugurated as the first innovation center of mines and mining industries in Iran, and knowledge-based companies are working in this field."
He said that the strengthening of bilateral relations, the distance between the university and industry will be reduced, adding: "Memoranda of understanding that are signed and implemented with different areas of universities, will solve some of the current problems."
According to Gharibpour, universities have a high capacity to develop relations, and Imidro is able to take advantage of the position of large mining companies and the mining industry to help deepen relations between the two sides.
The current need for research in the mining industry
Gharibpour, stating that the relationship between academia and industry should lead to meeting industrial needs, said: "The result of this relationship should lead to technical knowledge in the production of sponge iron, copper, aluminum and so on."
He continued: the country's needs in the mining and mineral industries, deep exploration and extraction to depths of more than two thousand meters, productivity of production factors, reduction of greenhouse gases, reduction of energy consumption, Internet of Things in industry, 3D printers and necessary arrangements To face the industrial revolution is the fourth generation
Contracts with Sharif University of Technology
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Imidro pointed out: Last year, more than 100 industrial needs were presented to Sharif University, which can be provided to students to conduct applied studies and research in the form of graduate dissertations.
He added: Imidro and Sharif University of Technology have three research projects entitled "Identifying the requirements for designing optimal approaches to improve the startup ecosystem of mining and mining industries in Iran", "Developing a roadmap for mining and mining industries by 2050" and "Applications of blasting technologies in The steel industry is operating with a focus on three technologies: artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and 3D printing.
Supporting 562 dissertations in postgraduate courses
Gharibpour mentioned another approach of Imidro to support dissertations in mining and mineral industries and added: this organization has so far supported 562 dissertations in postgraduate courses (master and doctorate) worth 3.5 billion Tomans.
He added: "Considering the significant part of the students of this Sharif University in graduate courses, this university can use this capacity in its faculties."
