Ahmad Tavakoli criticizes the high prices and shortages of the stone industry
Member of the Board of Directors of the International Iranian Stone Exhibition: The increase in the price of equipment has also caused the increase in factory accident insurance. Some quarrying companies that have insured their equipment must pay a sum again for accident insurance. Unfortunately, the cost of production is increasing day by day.
Ahmad Tavakoli, a member of the board of directors of the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, stated: "Iran's stone and mining industry is currently facing a severe shortage of first-class spare parts for machinery." The shortage has escalated to the point where some miners and factory owners have stopped working. This is while we are in the year of "production leap" and the authorities must act in such a way that the activity of jobs is multiplied.
He added: "In the mining sector, we are facing a shortage of heavy tires and first-class filters." Rubber and filters are not first class in the market, and whatever they are, they are second and third class materials that do not work for more than a year. Heavy machine tires are not produced in Iran. When we do not have domestic production, it is necessary to import first-class tires so that mining activities do not face all these problems.
Ahmad Tavakoli said: "The situation is the same in many stone cutting factories, and with the increase in the price of the dollar, the price of all spare parts and consumables has multiplied, and many factories cannot afford first-class parts."
He added: "The biggest disaster that is currently facing the producers is the increase in the price of dollars and supplies." With the rising price of the dollar, many foreign workers have left their jobs and gone because it is not affordable for them to work in Iran at this dollar rate. Some quarrying factories are facing labor shortages.
He continued: the increase in the price of equipment has also caused the increase in factory accident insurance. Some quarrying factories that have insured their equipment must pay a sum again for accident insurance. Unfortunately, the cost of production is increasing day by day.
