There are 14 active decorative stone mines in Piranshahr
Head of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of West Azerbaijan: 14 granite and decorative mines have been active in Piranshahr, with definite reserves of more than 5,660 tons.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Gholamreza Babaei added: Piranshahr is one of the most important centers in the country in the production of granite.
He continued: 1,413 people have been employed in these mines and 1,469 billion rials have been invested to implement them.
The head of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of West Azerbaijan added: "The decorative stones of Piranshahr mines are mainly colored granite with unique quality in Iran and is one of the largest export items of this province."
Babaei continued: "In addition to granite, there are also marble and porcelain mines in this city and it has directly created employment for 130 people."
He said: "One of the Chinese mines in this city, located in the Seo Gadeh region, has built a mine processing unit, which has invested 20 billion rials to implement this project, and by employing 20 people, the added value of the mine will be prevented from leaving the country."
He pointed out that considering the pristine and untouched nature of Piranshahr and the mountainous nature of this region and the role of mountains in the occurrence of stone mines, Piranshahr has rich stone mines, he added: more than 80% of West Azerbaijan granite ores are located in Piranshahr. Is.
He added: The third gold mine of West Azerbaijan is located in Piranshahr city, which is in the process of being discovered with a reserve of 196,000 tons of gold ore of suitable grade.
West Azerbaijan ranks first in the country in terms of gold reserves and production. The third gold mine of West Azerbaijan is located in Piranshahr city and the other two gold mines of the province are located in Takab city.
