Head of Kurdistan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization: All our efforts are to solve the problems of the province's production units, and the problems of the units will be addressed in the working group for facilitating and removing barriers to the province's production.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Mohammad Darreh Hozmi, in a meeting with the representative of the Kurdistan Industry, Mining and Trade Family Council and the representative of the Supreme Leader in this province, said: The field of the Mining Industry and Trade Organization is very wide and in the current economic situation Governing the society, the duties of this organization have doubled.

He added: Kurdistan is a mineral province with capacities such as gold, iron ore and decorative stones and 18 types of minerals have been identified, which has something to say in the country.

The head of the Kurdistan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization stated: Kurdistan is the largest producer of gold in the country, so that last year 4,500 kilograms of pure gold were produced in the Zarkuh gold mine, which is more than 50% of the country's gold production.

Dareh-e-Hawzami noted: "Saqez gold exploitation license has also been issued, but environmental opposition caused it to be postponed, which will begin soon with the efforts made."

He pointed out: "We also have good reserves in the field of iron ore and we have made good discoveries. The Kurdistan steel chain project, including a concentrate plant for iron ore processing operations (concentrate, pellets, sponge iron and steel), has been defined and the executive operations of the projects have begun."

The head of the Kurdistan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization stated: "Currently, 1.5 million tons of concentrate is produced, iron ore crude sales are prevented, and executive operations for the production of pellets and sponge iron will begin in the two factories of Saba Noor and Kimia Mines in Bijar."

He stated: The executive operation of producing sponge iron with a capacity of 1.6 million tons in 10 km of Bijar and the executive operation of producing one million tons of hot rolled sheet has started in Qorveh.

According to Darreh-e-Hawzami, a foreign investor was supposed to work for Saqez sponge iron in Sahib, but withdrew after imposing harsh sanctions, and the project was stopped, and preparations for the start of work began yesterday.

He continued: In the field of industry, there are about 860 production units in Kurdistan, of which about 20% are stagnant and the rest work from 40 to 100% of capacity.

Darreh Hozmi mentioned: Sanandaj Petrochemical is one of the large units of the province with high economic justification and high profitability, which produces 300,000 tons of light polyethylene per year and employs about 700 people directly, 50 trucks of the factory's products daily to the country's ports and locations. Consumption is exported domestically.

He described Barez Tire Factory as another large production unit in Kurdistan, which produces 18,000 car tires daily and employs 750 people directly.

The head of the Kurdistan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization also said: Zarkuh gold mine also operates with 1,230 direct employees, 120 of whom are foreigners and the rest are Iranians.

He mentioned Bijar Cement with about 500 direct jobs and production of more than one million tons per year of gray cement, Sabanvar and Kimia units of Sepahan Mines, Sanandaj Tractor Manufacturing, Van Turpentine, Kasra Tile Factory as other large production units in Kurdistan and said: All our efforts are to solve the problems of the production units of the province, and the problems of the units will be addressed in the working group for facilitating and removing the barriers to the production of the province.

He said: Kurdistan factories have problems in the country, such as working capital, supply of raw materials and high exchange rates.

"Currently, we have about 1,400 established licenses, which have zero to 90 percent physical progress, and we are trying to put projects with high physical progress into operation this year," said Darreh Vazmi.

He also referred to the activities of 80,000 trade unions in Kurdistan and said: "30,000 of them are in Sanandaj, which are from production to distribution and services."

"Kurdistan guilds, like the rest of the guilds in the country, suffered losses due to the corona, and we have focused all our efforts on combating overselling and underselling in the market and guilds sector," Dareh-e-Ozmi said.
