Head of Lorestan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization: Fifty-eight mining areas with very good capacities have been identified in different parts of the province.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Mohammad Reza Safikhani added: "Iran Mines and Mineral Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro) last year put on the agenda the potential of minerals in the Zagros provinces and Lorestan as a potential region In this regard, it was considered.

He said: "This action was not done in the last forty years, in which the expert team and Imidro consultants carried out the preliminary and study stages of the project in the province, and now the sampling stage is underway."

The head of the Lorestan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization stated: After the sampling is completed by the end of October, the final report on the type of minerals and their details will be presented and the project will enter the implementation stage and be handed over to qualified people.

Safikhani continued by stating that two paper production projects from Aligudarz stone and Poldakhtar hydrate with the participation of Imidro are active in the province: these points are economically desirable and with the investment of the private sector, it will enter the phase of issuing exploitation and exploration licenses.

He emphasized: with the exploitation of these areas and the establishment of mining industries in Lorestan, a significant change will take place in the economy of this field and the employment of the province.

Twenty-two types of minerals are now extracted from one hundred and ten mines in Lorestan, three of which are metallic minerals.

The province's mineral reserves are estimated at 600 million tons, most of which are carcasses and decorative stones, and Lorestan has two percent of the country's stone reserves, which has about six percent of the country's extraction.
