Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of Ilam Industry, Mining and Trade Organization: There are fifty-three active mines with valid exploitation licenses in the province, in which six hundred and six people are working.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Nabi Samavati stated: This year, three new licenses have been issued in the mining sector with employment of 20 people and follow-up has been done to activate stagnant mines.

He added: "Also, this year, seventeen renewal licenses have been issued and four items have been discovered."

The Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of the Ilam Industry Organization reminded: Bitumen, gypsum, limestone, carcass and malone, calcareous alluvium, shale and marl, calcite, silica, sand, gravel, marble and salt are the twelve minerals available in the province.

Samavati informed about the exploratory studies of Imidro project to the stage of announcing promising points and added: following the memorandums of cooperation on the trip of the government economic delegation to the province between Samat and Imidro last year, mineral potential studies in the province by the Mines Development and Renovation Organization And the mining industry has started.

He emphasized: after calling and selecting the consulting engineers company, the first phase of this project includes collecting information, documents, maps and satellite images, and then a field visit by a consulting expert team to areas with potential.

According to him, the final results of these studies for the next phases and potential mineral areas will be announced in the fall of this year.

According to this report, Ilam province has rich mines for the production of construction materials and based on capacity measurement in terms of non-metallic ores and minerals in relation to construction materials has favorable conditions. The nominal capacity of the province's mines is close to ten million tons.
