The importance of rehabilitating small mines

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, considering that a large number of the country's mines are small mines, if we can activate them and provide the grounds for their production, the production leap will definitely be achieved.
One of the most important issues in the field of small-scale mines is the ability to produce economically. Many of these mines are far from processing plants or have a mineral grade that cannot be sold directly.
One of the reasons that many small mines are inactive and have not been produced so far is that the products extracted from them are of low grade and it is not cost-effective to transport the minerals to ports or processing plants. In order to make these mines economical, we must try to separate the tailings in the mine and bring the materials to an acceptable level so that we can transport them to the sources of consumption.
One solution is to move the plant closer to the mine to reduce transportation costs and make mineral extraction more economical. Also, if we can consider a collective processing unit or use a mobile processing unit, the production of these mines will be economical and economic actors will be willing to revive them.
Due to the diversity of small mines in the country, Imidro has taken many measures to rehabilitate them. In this regard, it should be said that we have many manganese, iron, lead and zinc mines in the country, which have low quality materials and are therefore inactive. Imidro, in particular the Minerals Production Company, plans to establish fixed or mobile processing units in cooperation with the Mines Insurance Fund to help rehabilitate these mines.
If this year the project of activating small mines can achieve its goals, which is to increase the production of mines and start many mines, it can be said that the production leap that is intended will definitely be achieved.
