Friday Imam Mehriz called for the establishment of a mine in this city
Pointing out that one of the largest lead and zinc mines in the country is located in this city, Mehriz Friday Imam said: in order to provide the required manpower and help production and productive employment in this complex, the universities of the region should provide and train efficient personnel.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Abdolreza Mohiataldin in a meeting with the head of the city's Department of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare pointed to the importance of the university's relationship with industry and training the required manpower based on regional conditions and added: All sections and mines are among the necessities and special care should be taken in this regard.
He continued: Lack of a plan in higher education centers in relation to student admission according to the needs of the industry is one of the problems that should be seriously considered by the stakeholders of these two important departments of university and industry.
The head of Mehriz city public culture council, stating that unlike in the past, in the current situation, most production, industrial and lead and zinc mining units in the city need specialized manpower, more coordination and planning and solving the existing problem to promote work, more production and absorption The youth of the area were called in units.
Also, the head of the Mehriz Department of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare said: "Most cooperatives and production and industrial units seek to attract university-educated personnel based on their work, which we are facing in the region."
Amir Abbas Dehghanizadeh added: "The relationship between the university and industry and the needs assessment for training and providing human resources in the region is an important issue that should be planned and appropriate action more than before and requires serious determination in this regard."
Currently, one thousand one hundred and sixty-two small and large workshops with the presence of nine thousand seven hundred and forty-six people are active in the city.
Also in Mehriz industrial towns including Shahid Chamran, one hundred and ninety-six hectares, Harfteh, Bahadoran industrial area and Sang and Yazd Mehr towns, more than four thousand people are employed.
According to the general policies of Article Forty-four of the Constitution, a twenty-five percent share for cooperatives in the Iranian economy is envisaged in the Sixth Development Plan.
According to the constitution, Iran's economic activity consists of public, private and cooperative sectors, which currently has the largest (about seventy-five percent) activity in the public sector, and the share of the cooperative sector in the Sixth Development Plan should reach twenty-five percent. The start of exploration operations for Bahadoran Mehriz lead and zinc mine started about fifty years ago and has played a significant role in creating productive and useful employment and economic prosperity of the city.
Mahdiabad lead and zinc and barite complex, located one hundred and fifteen kilometers southeast of Yazd, is known as one of the largest lead and zinc mines in the country.
At present, mining operations with a significant volume as well as the construction of processing plants with an annual capacity of eight hundred thousand tons of zinc concentrate and eighty thousand tons of lead-silver concentrate are being carried out as the largest lead and zinc factories in the country.
Mehriz has three universities with three thousand undergraduate and graduate students in one hundred and fifty fields.
The center of this city of fifty-five thousand people is located thirty kilometers south of Yazd.
