Iran's trade with Syria will increase to $ 1 billion
Chairman of the Iran-Syria Joint Chamber: Our goal is to increase the trade ceiling with Syria to $ 1 billion by next year.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Keyvan Kashefi, stating that our goal is to increase the ceiling of trade with Syria to one billion dollars next year, said: Syria is one of the main markets and export destinations of our country, especially in the future. We have common interests with this country in various fields that can help increase economic relations.
The head of the Iran-Syria Joint Chamber added: "The Syrian economy has a great potential for bilateral and multilateral cooperation; Its economy has been production-oriented from the very beginning. Syria was once one of the major producing countries, but it moved away from this situation due to the war, and now the reconstruction period of this country provides us with a good opportunity to provide all kinds of construction services.
"Syria is also very interested in economic deals with Iran, and we must make good use of this opportunity," Kashefi said. Industrial goods, factory equipment, construction materials, and especially agricultural products will also have a good market in Syria, and we must focus on the export of these goods.
"The Syrian economy has great potential and we should not ignore these opportunities," he added. It has been a while since we bought an office for the Iranian Trade Center in Syria, and we plan to have a place for Iranian companies to settle there, and two floors of this center will be allocated to the exhibition section; Of course, the goal here is not to present Iranian products in the Syrian market, but this is just one step of the goals set for cooperation in the Syrian market.
Kashefi added: "Considering the situation of the countries, we should have a different and specific model and system for the operation of these offices. Therefore, I believe that the operation of Iran's commercial offices in the target countries is the most difficult part of the work."
He said that the commercial office is supposed to facilitate in this area; That our producer is not abandoned in another country. We intend to be with the Iranian economic activist and investor from the airport to the establishment and launch of economic work. We plan to hire people in this center who know Syria; Know the relationships and be familiar with the laws of this country so that they can provide consulting services to economic actors.
"In Syria, we do not count on the sale of goods, but the sale of goods is part of our job; Our main goal is to make joint ventures in various fields.
The head of the Iran-Syria Joint Chamber of Commerce said: "Syria has very good technical and engineering forces that we can cooperate and invest in various projects of dam construction, construction of power plants and other infrastructure."
A member of the board of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry added: "It is necessary to launch a credit line with Syria to facilitate trade between the two countries, so we also need the cooperation of the Central Bank."
