Joint cooperation between Iran and Ukraine in the stone industry
Expressing the desire of Ukrainian companies to cooperate with Iranian partners and buy decorative stones from Iran, which was recently announced, if realized, could lead to a change in the market of the Iranian stone industry.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, the secretary of the Iranian Stone Association said: "If investors and activists in the stone industry are sure of the security of their capital in this way, they will certainly welcome this joint cooperation." Ukraine has great potential for the Iranian stone market. Because this country has reserves of granite, but a stone like marble is less found in this country and tends to cooperate with Iran in this field.
Ahmad Sharifi added: "A mechanism for joint ventures with Ukraine must be defined." In this way, we can jointly invest Ukrainian companies that are interested in cooperation with investors and activists in the stone industry in Iran. It is even possible to do part of the processing work in Iran and part in Ukraine. It is also possible to use customs and ta'zir tariffs and establish a partnership between Iran and Ukraine in the mining and processing sector; All of this can create a good market for joint ventures in mining and processing, as long as political issues and labor sanctions do not complicate matters.
Sharifi continued: "In this regard, we will contact any of the Ukrainian companies that have expressed interest and cooperation with Iranian companies." Also, since Iran is in the field of complete processing machinery and is made entirely in Iran, it is possible to export part of the processing machinery to Ukraine and to develop processing in the mining sector in Ukraine with Iranian machinery.
According to the secretary of the Iranian Stone Association, a number of negotiations have taken place but have not yet been implemented. However, if domestic investors, owners of mines and processing units are convinced that the security of their capital is maintained in Ukraine, they will definitely declare their readiness to participate.
He added: "If such a possibility can be provided in Central Asian countries, it will lead to the development of the country's stone industry."
Sharifi believes that the main problem in Iran is investment security. At one point, for example, the government imposed a 70 percent tariff on decorative stone, and it took a year to prove to the ministry that this was wrong, and during that time we lost 40 percent of our markets. Therefore, it can be said that unprofessional decisions cause foreign investors to be reluctant to be present in Iran, and an economic blow is dealt to the employment and investment sector.
According to this report, Iran has abundant reserves and high diversity in decorative stones, and if proper investment and proper planning is done for this sector, we can see the currency appreciation and added value of this sector.
