Member of the Board of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce: The closure of technical and engineering projects in Iraq will have a negative impact on the export of goods and services from Iran to Iraq.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Seyed Hamid Hosseini said about the latest situation of exports to Iraq: "With the opening of the borders, the situation is improving, but the closure of technical and engineering projects in food will definitely have a negative effect on our exports to Iraq."
A member of the board of directors of the Iran-Iraq Chamber of Commerce added: "The Iraqi government has ordered the closure of all technical and engineering projects in Iraq, and the closure of this project will definitely affect our exports."
"The Iraqi government does not have enough funds to continue the technical and engineering projects, so it has ordered all domestic and foreign contractors to close the projects," he said.
Hosseini stated that the activity of these projects is very important for us in terms of exports and said: "Certainly, the activity of this project will lead to the export of construction materials, rebars and goods needed to complete the project, and with the cessation of these projects, Iran's exports to Iraq." It becomes less.
"Currently, only technical and engineering projects funded by the World Bank are operational, and other projects are closed," he said.
Hosseini added: "In 2014, the Iraqi government shut down technical and engineering projects due to lack of funding."
