Naturally, the observance of protection and safety standards in private mines is more important than public mines in terms of its special economic importance and reputation.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, according to the statistics of accidents and deaths due to mining activities in Iran since 1372, it can be said that the highest number of deaths is related to coal mines. These types of mines have one hundred and five casualties in their file so far.

In 2017, forty-three people lost their lives and more than seventy people were injured due to the explosion of the Yurt winter mine in Golestan province, therefore, strict safety regulations must be observed in mines, especially coal and underground mines. The following are technical and suggested solutions to prevent the recurrence of such incidents:

1- Establishing a daily inspection system for mine inputs and outputs, especially mine materials

2- Holding periodic and codified trainings for miners; Especially workers who work in tunnels and underground sections near the chest.

3- Establishment of HSE management system in the mine

4- Using different risk assessment and analysis techniques to identify risks in a timely manner and plan to eliminate them.

5- Equipping the mine with ventilation systems according to the special regulations of mine ventilation

6- Perform gas test just before starting each work shift

7- Utilizing occupational safety and health experts

In fact, safety is one of the main axes of industrial and mining activities in the world, and this is directly related to the commitment of management. It can be said that the basic safety and strict measures in this sector depend on respecting the human resources and organizational excellence of each group.

Regarding which of the private and public mines has more safety, it should be said that naturally, the observance of protection and safety standards in private mines is more important than public mines in terms of its special economic importance and reputation.

Of course, this is not true in all cases, and sometimes the rial value of a product or mineral determines the safety attitude of private and public sector employers. Unfortunately, sometimes the low rial value of some minerals is one of the main reasons for not spending credit for safety issues. In fact, with the depletion of the economic value of the mineral, unfortunately, the commitment to safety issues also diminishes, which must be addressed.
