The country's identified mineral reserves are fifty-five billion tons
Deputy Minister of Industry: The amount of mineral reserves identified in the country is about 55 billion tons, of which about 35 billion tons are definite and the rest are probable.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Alireza Shahidi, pointing out that Iran is one of the origins of rich mineral resources with eighty-one types of minerals in the rank of mining countries in the world, stated: This year and simultaneously By the order of the President and the order of the Acting Minister of Industry, in the last quarter, more than twenty thousand square kilometers of zones and exploration areas of the Geological Survey of the country were liberated to boost the private sector.
The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, emphasizing that the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration Organization of the country last year carried out operations to identify mineral reserves in an area of one hundred and fifty thousand square kilometers, clarified: This year, according to the plans of this exploration organization The base of geology, identification and research will continue in an area of more than three hundred thousand square kilometers, which is accompanied by a double jump compared to last year.
Shahidi added: "Liberation of sixty areas of exploration zones started last year, and thirty areas have been released, and this work will be pursued this year as well, in order to facilitate exploration."
According to the head of the Geological Survey of Iran, based on the exploration activities carried out by this organization for several decades and the combination of different layers of information and modeling of these layers, it is predicted that there are large iron ore reserves in the country and the only way to achieve that is systematic exploration. Depth is in the form of a single policy.
The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade pointed out: The set of activities carried out to explore hidden and deep reserves until the end of last year included aerial geophysical surveys in an area of six hundred and forty thousand kilometers, to fully identify potential environments with aerial geophysical surveys. We need over two million and seven hundred thousand linear kilometers in the country.
