Secretary of the Iranian Stone Association: Managers and government officials agree to eliminate the export duties on decorative stone.

According to the International Stone Exhibition of Iran, the secretary of the Iranian Stone Association stated: "Yesterday in Imidro, we had a joint meeting with Dr. Zadboom, the head of the Development and Trade Organization, regarding the export duties on decorative stone. Economic and expert, duties must be removed.

Ahmad Sharifi added: "Finally, it was decided to prepare an expert report on the need to eliminate the export duties on decorative stones and sign it with Dr. Gharibpour, Chairman of Imidro, Dr. Zadboom, Chairman of the Development and Trade Organization, and Dr. Ismaili, Deputy Minister of Mines of the Ministry of Silence." Present the head of the Ministry of Industry.

The secretary of the Iranian Stone Association said: "Currently, there is a capacity of 30 million tons of stone production in the country, of which only one third is ten million tons in the production cycle, and in this situation, a 20% tax is imposed for the export of decorative stones , Seems to be a non-expert work.

He added: "The then Deputy Minister of Mines of the Ministry of Industry imposed a 20% export duty on decorative stone early last year." This was while the policy council had announced that the imposition of work fees is unprofessional. After that, the reports of mining experts were given to the Deputy Minister of Mining, which is not in the interest of the value chain of the country's stone industry, however, it was approved by the Ministry and tolls were imposed.

He added: "As mentioned, we now have a capacity of 30 million stone production in the country and ten million tons will be produced." On the other hand, due to the lack of a market, the activity of one thousand mines has stopped and led to the disappearance of many job opportunities in deprived areas, so the imposition of export duties is not reasonable. If we look at it in macroeconomics, it is quite clear whether exports should be stopped or not? On the other hand, according to the approvals of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and also the law that exists in the country, when there is a surplus of goods needed by the domestic market, so even the government has no right to impose duties and is against the law and expert reports.

Sharifi continued: "But after the presence of Dr. Ismaili as the new Deputy Minister of Mining of the Ministry of Industry, he also agreed with the issue that tolls should not be imposed for decorative stones."

The secretary of the Iranian Stone Association referred to the current situation of the stone industry and the change in the view of senior managers in the field of mining on decorative stones and continued: "During several meetings with managers and officials, fortunately today we reached a consensus and that The Deputy Minister of Mines of the Ministry of Industry, the Chairman of the Executive Board of Imidro and the officials of the Ministry agree that these duties should be removed.

He added: "Yesterday in Imidro, we had a joint meeting with Dr. Zadboom, the head of the Development and Trade Organization, in this regard, and finally, after negotiating with him, it was concluded that the tolls should be removed." Also in this meeting, the conclusion was made on the basis that an expert report on the need to eliminate the export duties on decorative stone was prepared and signed by Dr. Gharibpour, Chairman of Imidro, Dr. Zadboom, Chairman of the Development and Trade Organization, and Dr. Ismaili, Deputy Minister of Mines of the Ministry of Industry.
