The foreign exchange market will calm down in the coming days
Governor of the Central Bank: With the ongoing measures, the foreign exchange market will gradually calm down in the coming days. The idea that the central bank and the government are not taking action to control the foreign exchange market is completely wrong.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Abdolnasser Hemmati said in an Instagram note titled "Speech with dear people and respected economic activists: These days, for obvious reasons, and I had already announced, the foreign exchange market is fluctuating." With the ongoing measures, the foreign exchange market will gradually calm down in the coming days.
The idea that the central bank and the government are not taking action to control the foreign exchange market, or that they are raising the exchange rate to cover the deficit or for other reasons, is baseless and a completely wrong perception.
The new instructions on how to return the currency to the economic cycle and provide the country's import currency have been operational for a few days. In this instruction, there is practically no ground for abnormal concentration of demand and its abuse.
For this reason, unfortunately, in the last two weeks, in addition to the reluctance of some exporters to offer their currency, some profiteers have been trying to sell foreign currency to importers at unconventional rates.
I advise the esteemed importers to endure a few days and gradually meet their needs from the Nima system in the next few days.
Respected exporters are also expected to offer their currencies at reasonable rates in the few days remaining from the commitment period to have the necessary buyer.
I appreciate the dear exporters who have served the production and employment of the country until today by returning the currency. Dear people, rest assured, the Central Bank will make every effort to regulate the foreign exchange market and restore stability, and return to equilibrium rates.
