According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Khodadad Gharibpour emphasized today in a joint meeting with the President of the University of Science and Technology: "Activities in these three areas of cooperation will pave the way for the development of the mining industry with new technologies in our country."

The Chairman of Imidro Board of Directors in the above meeting, which was also attended by Akbar Turkan, emphasized: This organization has developed its cooperation with universities and scientific centers including Sharif, Tehran and Amirkabir and University Jihad in the last two years. He added: "Recently, with the offer of Imidro, Chadormelo Mining and Industrial Company has started activities in the field of rare elements and metals, and this field can be promoted with the support of that company and the capability of the University of Science and Technology." He continued: In the field of precious and semi-precious stones (gems), organizations along with private sector consortia in Isfahan and Mashhad are taking measures that will be strengthened with the presence of the university.

Gharibpour also stated about decorative stones: "Considering the existence of nine hundred inactive decorative stone mines in the country, there is a favorable ground for activating these mines with the help of the University of Science and Technology, which will lead to creating new jobs in the field of mining by using Knowledge is up to date.

Follow Imidro to reduce the export duties of decorative stones

Regarding the removal of barriers to the export of decorative stones, the Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Trade said: "According to the meeting we had with the head of the Trade Development Organization, it was decided to raise the export duties on decorative stones at the headquarters for correcting and eliminating them and take necessary measures to reduce them."

He emphasized: in the field of decorative stones, by using the university arm and applying new knowledge, it is possible to prevent the loss of minerals in the process of processing and cutting stones.

He reminded: Iran Minerals Production Company (affiliated to Imidro) has an ongoing research project that aims to diagnose (production and export) of decorative stone industry.

A new document on cooperation with science and industry is being developed

The Chairman of the Board of Imidro stated: "According to the new program of cooperation between Imidro and the University of Science and Technology, we intend to develop a memorandum of cooperation between the two sides on these issues and sign and exchange a new document."

The need to create undergraduate and graduate courses in stone engineering

In this meeting, Akbar Turkan also suggested: using the capacity of the University of Science and Technology to create stone engineering courses in undergraduate and graduate courses can increase the power and scientific level of the country.

Referring to Imidro's actions in the field of rare elements, he said: "Three parts of rare elements and metals, decorative stones and also gemstones, can have" technological development "with the help of the University of Science and Technology."

The total production of rare elements in the world reaches one hundred and seventy thousand tons per year, which China has one hundred and fifteen thousand tons, while the American space industry, for example, is in dire need of seventeen rare and expensive elements. . According to Turkan, the production of this type of elements does not require huge factory equipment and mainly requires technical knowledge.

Amir Khorami Shad, Imidro's Vice President for Development and Empowerment, referring to Imidro's cooperation with the University of Science and Technology, said: "Imidro has had a joint contract with this university in three areas so far, and participation in equipping the laboratory is a record of bilateral cooperation."

Mohammad Aghajanlou, Imidro Deputy Minister of Mining Projects and Mining Industries, also called for cooperation between the two sides to strengthen the decorative stones industry and their processing with up-to-date knowledge.
