Eighty-two percent decrease in Iran's exports to India
The Secretary of the Indian Desk of the Trade Development Organization of Iran announced the holding of the first meeting of the Indian National Desk with the aim of reviewing export development strategies to this country.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Hossein Bamiri stated: "Due to sanctions and the spread of the corona virus, Iran's exports to India in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year decreased by eighty-two percent. Given the existing capacity to increase the level of trade relations between Iran and India, as well as the country's need for Iranian products, strategies to increase exports to this important export target market were examined.
He added: "In this meeting, while presenting a report on Iran-India relations, the present representatives expressed their views on how to clean up with this country, the problem of not starting Pasargad Bank in India, the activation of Chabahar port and obstacles and export development strategies." To India as well as developing a roadmap and export strategy to this country.
The Secretary of the India Desk of the Trade Development Organization of Iran continued: In this meeting, it was decided that the operational roadmap for the development of Iran's exports to India be prepared by the Joint Chamber of Commerce of Iran and India. It was also suggested that in a meeting coordinated by the Chambers and the Trade Development Organization of Iran and with the presence of traders and exporters, the reasons for the decrease in exports to India be examined despite the existing potentials and operational strategies be adopted to increase exports to target countries.
It is worth mentioning that the first meeting of the Indian State Desk with the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Central Bank J. ا. Iran, Iran-Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, as well as the Iran-India Joint Chamber of Commerce were held at the Iran Trade Development Organization.
