Head of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of West Azerbaijan: Fifty-seven people are currently working in the mining sector of the province, but this figure can be increased by increasing investment in this important economic sector.

According to the International Stone Exhibition of Iran, Gholamreza Babaei pointed out that last year, despite sanctions and economic problems, the volume of investment in the mining sector of the province had increased by forty-seven percent compared to the same period last year. In the past, more than 530 billion rials have been invested in the mining and mining, decorative and mountainous materials of this province.

He pointed out that last year there were four hundred and seventy mines active in the province, he said: with the follow-up of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization, this year the number of mines with exploitation licenses in the province has reached four hundred and eighty-five mines.

The head of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of West Azerbaijan stated: The definite reserves of mines in this province are estimated at more than one billion and two hundred and fourteen million tons and more than seventeen million tons of various minerals are extracted annually in the province.

He pointed out that more than thirty-six thousand six hundred and sixty-seven billion rials have been invested in the province's mines so far, adding: "Currently, fifty-one types of minerals have been identified and discovered in West Azerbaijan, which according to these statistics, this province in terms of Mineral diversity ranks third in the country.

Babaei said: "Among the minerals identified in West Azerbaijan, we can mention a variety of ornamental stones, gold, titanium, barite, silica and mineral pumice."

The head of the Industry, Mining and Trade Organization of West Azerbaijan, noting that the main problem of the mining sector is the sale of raw materials and the shortage of large-scale stone-cutting units in the province, said: In the year of production jump to support mining units and prevent raw materials We have put on the agenda the construction of stone cutting and processing units, the follow-up for the construction of two large-scale stone-cutting units and the provision of banking facilities for the development of units and the modernization of machinery.
