Closing 30% of Fars mines
Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of Fars Province Mining Industry and Trade Organization: Of the total mineral licenses issued in Fars, 30% of mines are closed.
According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Seyed Davood Hosseini stated: One of the tasks assigned to the Mining Industry and Trade Organization in Fars Province is to determine the duties of passive mines, which are licensed but have not been active.
He added: "According to the exploitation licenses, six hundred and forty-seven mining licenses have been issued in Fars province, which will provide employment for 8,700 people in Fars province, and the amount of licenses issued from mineral resources in Fars province is also mentioned as fifty-one million tomans.
Hosseini emphasized: Fars province has the fourth place in the country based on the amount of reserves and Fars province is among the top four provinces in the country in terms of extraction and Fars province is the sixth province in the field of job creation in the field of mining.
The deputy head of the Industry Organization said: 30% of the mines in Fars province are closed, which according to the permits provided amounting to one hundred and eighty-nine inactive silver mines in Fars province with an operating capacity of five hundred million tons and an investment of one hundred and forty billion tomans in Fars province is inactive. This capacity could have created employment opportunities for 1,780 people if they were active.
Hosseini also pointed out: Marble and marble iron ore marble mines are among the most closed mines in Fars province. In Fars province, Shiraz Bavanat and Abadeh with more than thirty-six passive mines in are.
He emphasized: "Based on the type of mining activities, we see that fifty-nine mines in Fars province are also subject to closure, of which fourteen mines are in conflict with each other and fifteen mines are also blocked by other devices."
