Business Advisor of the Bangladesh Embassy in Tehran: If the economic sector of Iran and Bangladesh takes further and positive steps to expand trade relations between the two countries, the volume of bilateral trade can be increased tenfold.
According to Iran International Stone Exhibition, Mohammad Saboor Hossein, in a meeting with the board of directors of Fars Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture in Shiraz, added: "Bangladesh's first industry is clothing and textiles, so that in the last fiscal year, eighty-two percent volume Our exports, in addition to the forty-one billion dollars, have been allocated to this industry.
He went on to point out that there are good opportunities for international trade in Bangladesh: "Other export items in the country include hemp yarns that can be used in carpet weaving, the ceramic industry and leather products."
He said that the trade between Bangladesh and Iran in the last fiscal year was about $ 100 million, which was positive for Iran's trade balance and exports from Iran to Bangladesh were higher than its imports.
The commercial advisor of the Bangladesh Embassy in Iran added: "Currently, goods such as bitumen, hemp threads, clinker and nuts are exported from Iran to Bangladesh and their market is also suitable."
Saboor Hossein stated: Iran has rich resources for oil and gas, while our country is deprived of these resources and wealth, so Iran and Fars can have a good market in this field in Bangladesh.
He said: "Bangladesh can be a major and sustainable market for Iranian traders and Fars province in the fields of importing bitumen, clinker, nuts, raisins, cumin, nano services and knowledge-based companies, various fertilizers and technical and engineering services of the big market."
He said: "Health tourism is one of the areas needed by Bangladesh, and while many Bangladeshis travel to India, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore every year to receive medical services, Iran and especially Fars province in this regard." It has good conditions for providing these services to our people, and we welcome this capacity in Fars and Shiraz.
"Another important part of our investment is investment," he said. In general, there is a good capacity for the two countries in this regard.
Saboor Hossein said: "Our country offers special incentives to traders in the field of trade, so that special zones are now active for traders in different countries in Bangladesh. If we wish, we can create a special zone without special restrictions for Iranian traders in Bangladesh."
He added: "There are many opportunities for trade and economic cooperation between Iran, Fars province and Bangladesh, and we in the trade section of the Bangladesh Embassy are ready for any cooperation to expand trade relations, increase cooperation between the two countries and facilitate international trade with Iranian traders."
He said that we are seriously pursuing a bilateral relationship between the Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and the Fars Chamber of Commerce so that traders on both sides can draw up specialized and long-term plans in the required areas.
Referring to the 2005 Iran-Bangladesh trade agreement, Sabur Hussein said: "A practical process must be defined and implemented so that traders in both countries can benefit from this agreement."
He added: "The Bangladesh Embassy is trying to increase the volume of trade with Iran, especially in some provinces, and we invite the Fars Chamber of Commerce to the sidelines of the D8 summit (an economic group consisting of eight developing Islamic countries: Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt and Nigeria), which are being held in Bangladesh, will send an economic delegation, as the summit will be a great opportunity to determine the executive guarantee of economic relations between the two sides.

A member of the board of directors of Fars Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture also said: "Since both Iran and Bangladesh have large markets, there are good economic and trade opportunities for cooperation between businessmen and traders on both sides."
Yalda Rahdar added: Fars province has a lot to say in agriculture, medicinal plants, cement, refining and chemical industries, tourism and handicrafts, and our traders and merchants can provide good services to the people of different countries in these areas.
He continued: "Production of content and software, new businesses and knowledge-based companies is another capacity of Fars province, in this regard, we are pursuing the establishment of trade relations with Bangladesh."
He added: "The Bangladesh market will have many attractions for Iranian businessmen and Fars province, but there are also problems in increasing trade with traders, and we should try to minimize these obstacles and facilitate the trade process."
